At Work

During my internship in the quality management department at a Zweifel, I had the chance to work in a good and supportive environment. My colleagues were friendly, approachable, and always willing to help whenever I had questions or needed guidance. I performed various laboratory tests, including measuring water, salt, and fat content in the products, and I learned how these results contribute to maintaining consistent product quality. Working in such a professional and collaborative team taught me how important accuracy, teamwork, and communication are in a quality-driven industry.

My Swiss Host Family

I stayed with Markus and Ruth, who have been incredibly welcoming, kind, and supportive throughout my stay. From the very beginning, they helped me settle into a new environment and made me feel at home. They showed me around, always included me in their plans, and cared deeply about my well-being. Whether we were sharing meals, going for walks, or exploring new places, I always felt like part of the family. I truly had a wonderful time with them, and I am very grateful for their warmth and generosity, it made my experience in Switzerland even more meaningful.

Highlights and Challenges in Switzerland

Some of my greatest highlights include the amazing host family I lived with, the friendships and professional connections I made, and the beauty of Switzerland itself. Traveling around the country and even to neighbouring countries gave me unforgettable memories as the mountains, lakes, and small towns were simply breathtaking. The main challenge I faced was the language barrier, as German is the official language in most parts of Switzerland. Many signs, public information, and transport announcements were in German, which sometimes made it difficult to understand instructions. However, with time and help from my colleagues and host family, I managed to adapt and even learned a few useful German phrases!

My Future Plans

When I return to Namibia, I plan to apply the knowledge and skills I gained during this internship in my field of environmental and public health. The experience taught me how quality management systems can improve safety, hygiene, and efficiency in food production. I hope to contribute to strengthening food safety and occupational health standards back home, and to encourage continuous improvement within Namibian industries.
