Various examples were used to show how the use of digital technologies can improve the customer experience in the tourism and financial industries in Switzerland.  Multimedia examples and the use of chatbots were discussed. Both industries had already been looked at in class, so that existing knowledge could be directly linked to. The aim was to deepen the knowledge of service marketing and to look at parallels as well as to discuss differences using examples from Switzerland and Namibia.

Personal Note

The virtual assignment was a very good experience. The students asked numerous questions and a lively discussion ensued. One advantage certainly was the pre-existing relationship of trust with the lecturer on site due to a previous assignment, as well as the knowledge of the curricula and the teaching setting. These factors benefited the overall experience.
