Virtual Internship at B360 education partnerships
Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance
University of Lusaka
September 1 - November 30, 2025
At work – my project / tasks
During my virtual internship with B360 education partnerships, I was assigned three core projects. First, I designed and conducted a comprehensive career starter alumni survey targeting participants of the career starter courses in Namibia, South Africa, and Zambia, strengthening my skills in data collection and interpretation. Second, I supported the documentation of alumni members by consolidating profiles and creating accurate, up-to-date records. Finally, I explored AI opportunities for B360, identifying ways digital tools and automation could improve efficiency, communication, and data management.
These projects gave me practical experience in research, documentation, and strategic process improvement. I was able to apply the theoretical knowledge I had acquired at university in a real-world setting. In addition, my daily tasks included data analysis, report drafting, attending virtual meetings, and coordinating with team members.
My mentor, coach and colleagues
The B360 team made an effort to foster a collaborative and supportive environment with regular check-in calls as well as inviting me to participate in team calls. I worked closely with my mentor Rahel, who provided helpful guidance and regular feedback, ensuring I always had clarity on my tasks and expectations.
My coach, Petra, whose patience and encouragement kept me motivated, and the rest of the team were incredibly supportive, making me feel connected and welcomed despite the physical distance. Their kindness and openness created a safe space to ask questions and learn.
Highlights and challenges during the virtual internship
One of the main highlights of my internship was completing a key deliverable ahead of schedule and being part of a successful virtual presentation. This experience boosted my confidence and strengthened my professional skills. On the other hand, one of the challenges I faced was unstable internet connection and time-management between internship tasks.
Despite this, I persevered by establishing a consistent work schedule and proactive communication with my mentor, using offline work where possible and ultimately, I managed to meet all my targets.
My future plans
This internship has deepened my interest in data analysis, as a result, I plan to seek employment in a related field. In the longer term, I hope to build a career in economics, using the experience and competencies I gained during this internship.
Personal message
I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to B360 education partnerships, Staub Kaiser Foundation, my mentor, my coach and all my colleagues for their support, guidance and encouragement throughout this journey. Thank you for believing in me, for giving me the opportunity to learn, and for being part of my growth.
