B360 Namibia hosts its first Career Starter Weeks

B360 Namibia successfully hosted its first two Career Starter Weeks (CSW) in October 2026, supporting unemployed university graduates in their transition to employment. The programme equips graduates with the practical skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to enter the job market.

The Career Starter Week was introduced in 2017 by the Swiss non-profit organisation “B360 education partnerships”. Following the establishment of B360 Namibia earlier this year, the programme was held for the first time under the leadership of the newly founded Namibian organisation. A total of 34 people participated in the two weeks.

Each of the two five-day workshops brought together university graduates and local and international professionals for an intensive programme focused on career readiness, personal development, and workplace success.

Through interactive and practical sessions, participants strengthened their skills in CV writing, interview preparation, professional etiquette, business communication, business modelling and entrepreneurship, financial planning, presentation skills, and personal branding. The programme also offered individual feedback, mentoring and coaching, mock interviews, and opportunities to develop and practise an effective elevator pitch.

The Career Starter Weeks form part of B360 Namibia's mission to bridge the gap between education and employment by connecting young graduates with experienced Namibian and Swiss professionals who share practical knowledge, workplace insights and career guidance.

Reflecting on the successful completion of the programme, Nico Smit, Country Manager of B360 Namibia, expressed his appreciation to everyone who contributed to making the initiative possible:

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm shown by the participants and deeply grateful to our facilitators, sponsors, volunteers, and partner organisations who invested their time, expertise, and resources. Together, we are helping young Namibians unlock opportunities, launch their careers, and build sustainable futures."

Throughout the programme, participants had the opportunity to engage directly with professionals from various sectors and backgrounds. By sharing their personal experiences, career journeys and insights into workplace expectations, these experts helped graduates gain a better understanding of the opportunities and challenges they may encounter as they enter the world of work. B360 Namibia extends its sincere appreciation to the programme sponsors, Oryx Properties Limited, LGT Switzerland and a Swiss-based foundation, and the volunteers Agnes Yeboah, Ilke Platt, Olga Katataiza, Paulo Coelho, Jonas Ileka, Hilda Basson-Namundjebo, Pehovelo Nghaamwa, and Ndapwa Kwedhi. Special thanks also go to the programme facilitators, Thomas Weber and Antonius Knep, for sharing their expertise and supporting the participants throughout the workshop.

Their collective commitment to youth development plays an important role in preparing the next generation of Namibian professionals and strengthening the country’s future workforce. Building on the success of its first edition, B360 looks forward to continuing the Career Starter Week in 2027. Dates and further programme details will be announced in due course.
