B360 Namibia officially launched
Yesterday, 25 February 2026, a new Namibian legal entity was launched:
B360 Namibia is the local office of the Swiss non-profit organization B360 education partnerships. The official launch was celebrated at the B360 Annual Networking Event in Windhoek.
B360 education partnerships (B360), a Swiss non-profit organization, has been actively supporting Namibian students and graduates through skills development and supporting them in taking their first steps on their chosen career path. In cooperation with the Namibia University of Science and Technology (NUST) and Bank Windhoek, different educational programs have been rolled out over the past 17 years.
B360 Namibia was established and started operations in February 2026 giving life to B360’s “going local” vision.
“B360 Namibia establishes a local footprint, and through this organization we will build on the strong foundation laid by our parent organization in Switzerland. We believe that through B360 Namibia we will achieve greater impact, and reach our target groups even more effectively,” said Nico Smit, Country Manager of B360 Namibia, during the launch event.
B360 Namibia will lend support to B360’s existing programs, while working to expand the local post-secondary education partner network. It will also develop and implement its own programs and projects that aim to equip young Namibians with the skills and knowledge to become drivers of change and progress in their communities.
The launch event took place at the Annual B360 Networking Event, where B360 Alumni, representatives of NUST, and partner companies as well as B360 experts met.
About B360 education partnerships
Founded in 2009 by Sabina Balmer, B360 is a Swiss non-profit organization, focusing on the sustainable exchange of knowledge and experience between organizations and specialists in Europe, and students and graduates from Southern Africa. B360 equips young people with the skills and knowledge to be drivers of change in their home countries.
One of the programs of B360 is “Northbound”: students from Southern Africa do a 3-month internship in Switzerland. This year, the program celebrates its 15th anniversary in Namibia. Since its inception in 2011, 115 Namibian students have completed fully-funded, paid internships in Switzerland. Close to 95% of Namibians that have participated in the B360 Northbound Program are currently employed, with many in high level and managerial roles in the local private sector.
B360 Namibia was officially launched on February 25, 2026.
