AT WORK

My professional experience in Liechtenstein was both enriching and transformative, providing me with a strong foundation for my future career. I had the privilege of working at LGT Bank in Vaduz within the PPFL division, where I assumed multiple responsibilities as a Business Product Manager, Client Communication and RM Platform specialist, as well as a Project Manager in my role as a Private Banking Trainee. These roles collectively offered me a comprehensive and practical understanding of private banking operations within an international financial environment.

From the outset, I was immersed in a highly professional and collaborative workplace culture that emphasized innovation, precision, and excellence. As a Private Banking Trainee at LGT Bank, I held an integrated role encompassing Business Product Management, Client Communication, Relationship Management (RM) Platform, and Project Management. In this capacity, I gained hands-on experience in translating client needs into tailored financial solutions while developing a strong understanding of market dynamics and product positioning within a competitive global environment. This required critical thinking, attention to detail, and analytical skills, all of which contributed to my professional growth and ability to engage with complex financial concepts.

At the same time, I supported the effectiveness of the RM platform, which strengthened my appreciation for the role of technology in delivering efficient, client-centered banking services. I was also actively involved in coordinating tasks and supporting projects, ensuring that objectives were met within set timelines. This experience allowed me to develop strong organizational, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, while fostering adaptability, accountability, and professionalism in a dynamic private banking setting.

Overall, my experience at LGT Bank significantly boosted my confidence and professional competence. It provided me with practical exposure to the financial sector, deepened my understanding of private banking, and equipped me with skills that will be essential in my future career. The mentorship and support I received from colleagues created an empowering environment that encouraged continuous learning and personal growth.

MY LIECHTENSTEIN HOST FAMILY

During my stay, I lived in Mauren and Ruggell, where I was fortunate to be hosted by three different families – one in Ruggell and two in Mauren. This unique experience allowed me to engage with a variety of households, each offering a different perspective on life in Liechtenstein while maintaining a shared sense of warmth and hospitality.

Each host family welcomed me with genuine kindness and made a conscious effort to ensure that I felt comfortable and included. From the very beginning, they created an environment that felt like home, which made my transition into a new country much easier. Living with multiple families also allowed me to adapt quickly to different routines, communication styles, and cultural practices, which significantly enhanced my flexibility and interpersonal skills.

Through shared meals, conversations, and daily activities, I gained a deeper understanding of Liechtenstein’s culture, traditions, and values. I had the opportunity to experience local customs firsthand, learn about family dynamics, and engage in meaningful cultural exchanges. These interactions not only enriched my stay but also broadened my perspective on global cultures and ways of life.

Beyond cultural learning, my host families provided emotional support and companionship throughout my journey. Being away from home can be challenging, but their presence made a significant difference in helping me feel grounded and supported. They were always willing to share advice, offer encouragement, and involve me in their daily lives, which created a strong sense of belonging.

This experience taught me the importance of openness, respect, and adaptability when engaging with people from different backgrounds. The relationships I built with my host families are meaningful and lasting, and I will always cherish the memories we created together. They were not just hosts; they became an integral part of my journey and contributed greatly to the success of my experience in Liechtenstein.

HIGHLIGHTS AND CHALLENGES IN LIECHTENSTEIN

My time in Liechtenstein was filled with numerous highlights that made the experience truly unforgettable. One of the most remarkable aspects was the opportunity to explore the stunning natural landscapes. The beauty of the mountains, lakes, and well-preserved towns created a unique and inspiring environment that I had never experienced before. These surroundings not only provided moments of relaxation and reflection but also deepened my appreciation for nature and sustainable living.

Another major highlight was the exposure to diverse cultures and perspectives. Interacting with people from different backgrounds allowed me to develop a global mindset and improve my cross-cultural communication skills. I was able to observe how different cultures approach work, relationships, and daily life, which broadened my understanding of the world and enhanced my adaptability.

Professionally, working in a highly structured and efficient system was a valuable learning experience. The emphasis on punctuality, organization, and quality in both Switzerland and Liechtenstein set a high standard that challenged me to improve my own work ethic. I learned the importance of discipline, precision, and accountability, which are essential qualities in any professional environment.

However, the experience was not without its challenges. Adapting to a new cultural and professional environment required patience and resilience. There were moments of uncertainty as I navigated unfamiliar systems, languages, and social norms. Being away from home also presented emotional challenges, as I had to adjust to a new support system and maintain connections with my family from a distance.

Despite these challenges, I viewed each obstacle as an opportunity for growth. I learned how to manage change, remain positive in unfamiliar situations, and develop independence. Over time, I became more confident in my ability to adapt and thrive in new environments. These experiences strengthened my character and prepared me for future international opportunities.

Ultimately, the combination of highlights and challenges created a well-rounded and enriching experience. It pushed me to grow both personally and professionally, leaving me with valuable lessons that will continue to guide me in my future endeavors.
