At work

During my internship, I worked in the HR department, within the Recruitment team. This experience allowed me to step outside my academic field and gain practical exposure to human resources, as I have an economics background. I supported various recruitment related tasks, which helped me develop organizational and communication skills. Working closely with the team gave me insights into how recruitment processes function in a professional environment. The team was extremely welcoming and supportive, making it easy for me learn and contribute effectively. 

My Swiss Host Family

I had the privilege of staying with two host families during my time in Switzerland, both in Maur. My first host family, Urs and Marlise, made me feel at home from the very beginning and helped me adjust to a new environment. My second host family, Herbert and Fiona also provided a very warm atmosphere. With them, I had the opportunity to engage in activities such as playing golf and tennis, which made my stay even more enjoyable.

Highlights and challenges in Switzerland

One of the highlights of my experience was exploring different cities in Switzerland and travelling to all of its bordering countries. I visited Zurich, Lugano, Bern, Zug, Luzern, Geneva, Milano, St. Moritz, Interlaken, Paris, Bregenz, Bendern and Konstanz. These experiences allowed me to appreciate different cultures and ways of life.

A challenge I faced was adapting to a new work environment outside my field of study, as well as adjusting to a different culture. However, these challenges helped me grow, become more adaptable and gain confidence in unfamiliar situations.

My future plans

This internship has broadened my perspective on career possibilities. While I remain passionate about economics, I have developed a strong interest in working with people and organizational processes. In the future, I hope to combine my background in economics with skills gained in HR, possibly exploring roles that integrate both fields.

Personal Message

I am truly grateful for this opportunity through the B360 program. It has been an enriching experience both professionally and personally. I would like to thank my colleagues and both my host families for their support, kindness and encouragement throughout my stay. This experience has left a lasting impact on me. I will carry these lessons forward in my future endeavours.
