My Experience in Switzerland – A Reflection

My time in Switzerland was nothing short of transformative both professionally and personally. At work, I had the pleasure of collaborating with an incredible team where I was warmly welcomed and continuously supported. Sutha and Vanessa, in particular, were not just colleagues but true buddies always ready to lend a hand, share a laugh, or offer guidance when I needed it. Under the expert leadership of Sandra, my manager, I was able to grow in confidence and skill. Sandra’s mentorship, patience, and openness created an empowering environment where I felt encouraged to contribute meaningfully and learn at every turn.

Outside the office, I was fortunate to stay with my wonderful host family, Claudia and her family, who made Switzerland feel like home from the very beginning. Their warmth, hospitality, and genuine interest in sharing Swiss culture with me created unforgettable memories. From shared meals to long conversations about life, they became more than hosts: they became family.

The entire experience in Switzerland was filled with highlights. Exploring the stunning landscapes, immersing myself in new languages and cultures, and building relationships across different walks of life were deeply enriching. Naturally, there were challenges too: adapting to a new environment, learning to navigate cultural nuances, and being away from home. But each hurdle was a learning opportunity that helped me grow both personally and professionally.

Looking ahead, I am excited to build on the knowledge and networks I gained during my stay. I plan to use this experience to further my work in international finance and development, with a strong interest in promoting cross-cultural collaboration and innovation. I am also eager to stay connected with the amazing people I met and contribute positively to the global community I now feel more a part of.
