Virtual Internships

In collaboration with UNILUS

Four virtual internships were completed in 2025. The two female and two male students from the University of Lusaka (UNILUS) were selected in a highly competitive selection process. The renewed high demand among students shows that the program is popular and has a very good reputation.

The virtual internships at Swiss companies began on September 1 and lasted until the end of November. After that, our virtual interns were able to start a three-month physical internship at a Zambian company. This hybrid approach has proven extremely successful and offers great added value. The Zambian internships were offered by Liquid Telecom and ZICTA.

This year, the big challenge was to find Swiss companies offering virtual internships. After intensive analysis and creative brainstorming, we came to the conclusion that we will adapt the program for the future, so that we can offer at least six internships again. We will be happy to provide more information in due course.

Special Award 2024

All five virtual interns of 2024 performed so well that they won the Special Award: a trip to Switzerland. During two weeks, the five young Zambians explored Switzerland and took part in the B360 annual event.

The Special Award was generously funded by the Staub Kaiser Foundation.
