subject matter taught

General Introduction Portfolio Management with a focus on topics related to Institutional Asset Management.

Content: Four chapters of basic theory and one chapter with exercises. Chapter 1-4 are about Financial Markets (1), Asset Classes/Asset Allocation and Investment Process (2), Investment Styles (3) and Risk Factors (4). Discussion of exercises in Chapter 5 with all students during the course.

There were two streams: The first stream comprised 2nd year students pursuing various programs but with macroeconomics as a prerequisite course, whilst the second stream comprised first year students doing mainstream economics.

Both lessons have been held in cooperation with Rabecca Hatoongo as a co-Lecturer, summarizing the content at the end of each chapter in her own words. Many questions came up so the lesson became very interactive.

Personal Note

Unique experience with highly motivated students asking interesting questions. I did lecturing a few years ago in Switzerland at the University of Applied Sciences in St. Gallen and Zurich (ZHAW) but a virtual lesson is very different, as you have to present the content precisely and short. The used Google Meet application was stable, audio quality was excellent and the chat function worked well. Exciting format of lecturing jointly with an international and a local expert.
