At work

During my internship at LGT Private Bank in Bendern, Liechtenstein, I had the privilege of working with two dynamic teams: Group Controlling, led by Andreas Blumenthal, and Risk & Security centre, under the guidance of Regula Geel. My experience was enriched by the invaluable mentorship of Kevin Vogt as my mentor, who patiently guided me through tasks, providing constructive feedback that spurred my growth.

In the Group Controlling, I focused on data analysis and crafting presentations with insightful graphs, effectively distilling complex information for enhanced understanding. This role, assigned by my mentor Kevin Vogt, challenged me to push boundaries and refine my skills. His constant encouragement and unwavering support motivated me to continuously strive for excellence.

Beyond Group Controlling, I seized the opportunity to explore various facets of the department. From delving into cost accounting to gaining proficiency in the ABACUS accounting system, my exposure expanded to encompass transfer pricing and intra-group company consolidations, in the Group controlling team. Risk & Security controlling teams I have gained incite into the following topics: liquidity assessments, Risk management, information & cyber security, Artificial intelligence, Sustainability, Risk Awareness, and many others.

Host family

My time with the Petzold family was nothing short of a blessing. Their warm welcome made me feel like an integral part of their household from day one. Engaging with my host siblings, especially the oldest daughter, was a delightful bonding experience. I share an amusing connection with my host mom, as we both have a penchant for sewing. This discovery reinforced my belief that no matter where or to whom I was born, the roots of my heritage run deep. My Host mom`s ability to seamlessly juggle work, parliamentary responsibilities, childcare, and quality time with us was awe-inspiring and created cherished memories. Engaging conversations with my host dad, offered valuable insights, even if we occasionally chuckled over our differing perspectives on matters like haircare and shower duration.

Highlights and Challenges in liechtenstein

Among the many cherished moments, discovering my host mom's role in the parliament and unravelling Liechtenstein's principality left an indelible mark as I had the opportunity to sit on the prince's seat in the parliament. Additionally, the extensive travels across Switzerland, France, Germany, Austria, and Italy broadened my horizons.

Yet, challenges also presented themselves. Initially, navigating the bus system posed difficulties, resulting in a minor delay to work. Adapting to the dual demands of school and work required a period of adjustment. Furthermore, the language barrier, as conversations often reverted to German, presented a unique hurdle.

My future plans

Looking ahead, I am committed to pursuing Chartered Accountancy, provided I secure the necessary financial support. However, I am open to obtaining a master’s in accounting should the opportunity arise. My primary goal is to improve the circumstances at home and realize my mother's longstanding dream of establishing a thriving tailoring business.
